'Terminator' Writer to Adapt TokyoPop Graphic Novel 'Juror 13' (Exclusive)

Screenwriter Mike Ferris has been tapped to adapt Juror 13, the graphic novel from TokyoPop.

Stu Levy, the filmmaker and entrepreneur who founded TokyoPop’s parent company Pop Media Group, will produce in association with China’s Artention Films.

No filmmaker or talent is attached but Levy hopes to begin packaging this year with an aim to move into production in 2017. A release in late 2017 or 2018 in China and worldwide would follow.

Juror 13 is a sci-fi thriller that centers on an ordinary young man who is unwillingly exposed to an experimental brain scanning technology, driving him to madness and murder while he wonders if his world's unraveling is just a figment of his imagination.

The graphic novel was written by D.J. Milky and illustrated by Japanese manga artist Makoto Nakatsuka.

Ferris is a veteran hand in the genre space, having worked on Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines andTerminator 4: Salvation, as well as David Fincher’s The Game. He most recently wroteHunter’s Prayer, a thriller directed by Jonathan Mostow and starring Sam Worthington that just wrapped last month.

Ferris is repped by APA and Lichter Grossman Nichols Adler & Feldman.
